Dear Friends in Christ,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We thank the Lord for you and deeply appreciate your faithful prayers and financial support for us and the work in Mexico.
Susie and I are doing well and have received a positive report from our doctors about the macular degeneration in our eyes – so far there has been no further deterioration since our last check up a few months ago. PTL!
The churches are doing well and with school starting again, everyone is back from vacations and getting settled back into their routines. The churches are actively recruiting new visitors and recalling some “faithful ones” to return to the body of believers to continue their biblical learning as well. Mexico’s Independence Day (Sep. 16th) was celebrated in several of the churches, and was a great opportunity to reach out to others with the Gospel of Christ. Freedom from the power of sin was a common theme in some of the messages, and special events helped bring people in to hear it. About 30 trusted Christ as their savior, and there were 5 baptisms!
We recently had to make a difficult decision concerning the Bible Institute. Over the last two years with the very strict Covid regulations put in place here, and the depletion of potential students wanting to live at an on-campus school away from home, there was not enough interest from the parents (out of fear mostly I believe) to send their young people to a live-on-campus school. After 42 years of training and equipping young people and married couples for ministry, the school will not reopen.
However, one of our former graduates and a former institute staff member, and current pastor of one of the churches we have organized, is continuing classes at his church campus for the few who did want to continue. Thank you all so much for the help, prayers, and giving for this ministry. May God bless you all.
