Dear Pastor Johnson & Cornerstone Baptist Church,
Just today I discovered that July must have flown by while I was busy!! I like to look at last month’s letter before writing this month’s letter, and it wasn’t there!
Both July and August were filled with planning for a short, mostly medical furlough. Cindy and I are in OKC, getting to know GREAT GRANDCHILDREN! seeing doctor’s, and we will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary while here in the presence of family, both relatives and church family.
Since we have been here, we received word that Nego went forward and was saved. He is the husband of Ana who has already made a profession, and dad to 14-year-old Gabriel, who has made a profession, and Gabi and Miriam, both adolescents. Pray with us for this family to be under the Word and grow spiritually.
Two days after arriving in OKC, I had the sensation of a crick in my neck, but it became so much worse that, that at my regular spine checkup, an MRI showed pinched nerves in my neck and the need to repair two discs! That will be done on September 8th, and we aren’t changing our return tickets for September 27th, so pray with me that I will be tough enough to get back home.
School finally started after a year’s recess in our state in Brazil, and with it of course, school busing, which I have been saying is my signal to start our busing! That will start as soon as we return. We have been serving a Continental breakfast before SS for about 2 months, and that has helped our SS to have 60 present two weeks ago and 53 this week. We have been seeing in the 40`s and 50`s in the evening services.
Thank you for your prayers. We continue to covet them.
Sincerely in Christ Jesus,
