Dear Pastor Johnson & Cornerstone Baptist Church,
Gabriela, a young mother of two, came forward Sunday night to receive Christ. She has been coming for some months now, a guest of Karina, another young mother who is her friend. We praise the Lord for her salvation. Both these women need special prayer for drinking husbands. Karina is living separated from her husband because of being battered, but they are on “friendly” terms (three small children). Gabriela is still putting up with being “battered”. Pray for Cindy as she disciples these ladies.
We had a high of 50 campers at our family camp. One teen girl was saved. There were campers from five different churches in five different towns as far away as 200 miles. Before the five nights and four days were over, people were having to return home because of flu like symptoms. The last day was bad for Cindy (Praise the Lord our Camp Cook made it all the way!) and even now, a week later she still is not back to 100%. Since camp, at least 13 have missed church services and work because of this virus.
At our annual business meeting, we voted to install (and it is already installed!) a solar system for all the property here. That is two churches buildings, four houses, one shop, and two swimming pools! The normal electric bill payments will more than cover the 60 months of payments. The equipment “is supposed” to last for 25 years, so in theory, we will have 20 more years of solar electricity. Also, at that meeting we called a national pastor for the church. He will come in July to assume the pastoral duties, freeing the missionary for camps, institutes, and church planting.
On March 12, I will visit a town in the next state over, 375 miles, where members from here relocated, and now are meeting with a group of a dozen or more. We hope to plant and church there.
Cindy and I are scheduling a furlough to begin in July.
