Tom and Cindy Brewer to Brazil

Dear Pastor Johnson & Cornerstone Baptist Church,

We have had good responses to Word preached of late! Hudson, 17 was baptized yesterday. Gabriela, reported saved in last letter, brought in the tithe AND FAITH PROMISE! Renato brought his tithe! Maybe there are those of you who understand what a victory that is, and even more especially in this culture.

March is our mission’s month. Every service Faith Promise was preached from the Scriptures. I am surprised as I visit with other pastors, and even missionaries that we support here, to find they think “missions” and especially “Faith Promise” is something “we do” and do not understand that even though the words “Faith Promise” are not found in the Scriptures, it is God’s Scriptural plan for the Great Commission.

I visited with a pastor, Bro. Clifford Clark, many time over the years, and even had the privilege of staying in a mission’s apartment with him during one Mission’s Conference many years ago. He told me that he had found Faith Promise in every book of the Bible! Try as I might, (he was over 80 the last time I tried to get those outlines – he never stopped talking/teaching, but followed his own thoughts more that my wants!) I was never able to hear them all.

This month I showed four “pictures” of Faith Promise from the Scriptures…

  • Elijah & The Widow of Zarephath (I`m still not sure who was most blessed there.)
  • Ana, Mother of Samuel.
  • The Four Lepers Outside Samaria in 2 Kings 7.
  • The Feeding of the Five Thousand in John 4.

I also, several time this month, hammered the fact that until one has brought God Tithe in, he can`t really give one red cent and call it any kind of offering!

Last night was Faith Promise Night, but illness here kept us from the great culmination. Very few people were present. We will check the promises later. But already today I see two new tithers! Electronically. Also, at least one new Faith Promise giver! What a victory in those lives! Rejoice with us in these victories!

Thank you for your prayers!

Sincerely in Christ Jesus,

Tom Brewer
