‌Ed and Deb Capps to Mexico

Dear friends in Christ,

We trust you are doing well in this cold weather.  Also we would like to wish you a great start to the New Year. We praise God for a good turn out for our church’s Christmas celebration with the kid’s drama & dinner!  Around 70 new people attended and 130+ in all! We were so glad we had enough food and candy bags for the kids!! Around fifty raised their hands for prayer for salvation! We pray the Seed was down on good soil!!

Our town has suffered more violence in the past weeks as some have been killed and cars burned.  Even though we have a police and military presence in town it doesn’t seem to make much difference, they seem to always show up after the shooting stops to pick up the bodies.  Oh well, I don’t see much of a change until the Lord comes.

Deb and I would like to Thank you very much for your faithful financial support!!  We plan on helping Tomas with some needed repairs to his car so he can continue going to Norogachi to preach at his mission church.  Also Roberto needs repairs on his truck to continue reaching out to Humarizo.  Arturo is a bilengual Indian and we are praying about helping him in his ministry also.  Most Indians have moved out of our mountain in Sayawichi.  The cartel have a strong hold there. We received word last week that they have forced open the steel cage that protects the cable engine and they have stolen the motor and transmission. Probably to sell to a junk yard in Guachochi.  Hebrews says we have a more enduring substance in heaven awaiting us there!

Things at the school have not changed much as far as we can tell. Our God reigns in the affairs of men, so we rest in His Divine justice and mercy.

Blessings again in the New Year,
Ed and Deb

Also the Bible Institute has finished its first semester with 3 students and 2 more who come to listen but not take the tests. Pray we can have more students.

We pay the Pastor extra for teaching at the Institute 6 hours of teaching a week which comes to $515 dollars a month.  So your offering is much appreciated. Thank you so much. We love you and miss you all. We fly back to Guachochi this coming week.  We needed to bring the plane out to the USA to renew papers for another year.
