Our travel season is in full swing with teams going out every few weeks! We are thankful that COVID rates are dropping, and the world is opening once again to international travel.
Our April Grand Opening was a huge success! Would you believe that over 300 people attended our tours and dinner? Pastors, church members, community leaders, family, and MMO travelers arrived from as far away as California to see our new building and warehouse and celebrate what God has done in our ministry! We had a sweet time of prayer, praise, and fellowship. Thank you to those of you who came and/or supported us on this journey! We are settled in just in time to head out into the field.
In May we took teams to the Dominican Republic- TWICE! We were able to work in two different churches during our visits. Both churches are pastored by national pastors, and we enjoyed so much the opportunity to serve. The coastal city of La Romana was the site of our first clinic with Pastor Ramon and the people of La Romana Baptist Church. We had medical, optical, and physical therapy in our clinic with 31 team members. We were also able to visit Bethany House- a boy’s home run by the church. Here we were able to clean, paint, do yard work, and purchase a new stove for the children. Can you imagine running a house full of boys with NO functioning stove?! Praise the Lord for 6 precious souls saved on this trip! Our second clinic site was in the city of Santo Domingo. Here we worked with Pastor Pedro and the people of Fundamental Bible Baptist Church. After a busy week with optical, medical, and dental clinics, and 48 team members, we finished the week strong with 1,100 patients treated and over 60 people saved.
As I type this letter, we have a team in Malawi. We call this team “small, but mighty” as there are only 8 of them and they have already seen over 500 patients this week. Reports are coming out to us about the desperate need for help in Malawi where the average annual income is only $1,568! The poverty is overwhelming, and we have been praying for not just the patients, but also for the emotional and physical stamina of our team.
A team is headed back to Honduras this week to assist veteran missionary Matt Goins and Beacon Baptist Church. This is one of our favorite trips of the year and we are excited about the chance to serve the community with medical and optical teams. Pray for souls and safety.
As always, we thank you for your support and prayers for our ministry. We are looking forward to Peru, Zambia, Ivory Coast, and Trinidad this summer! So many souls, so much to do! We are excited about taking the entire Edmondson family to Peru in July. We still need funding for this trip, as it is expensive to travel with a family of six. Each of our children will be working alongside of us in the clinic as they have done in the past. We feel that it is imperative that they grow up as a part of this ministry. Please pray for their hearts as they work. If you would like to donate for their trip, feel free to use the link below:
Thank you for your support. Please join us on a trip.
