Dear Praying Friends,
We are so glad to be able to report to you several answers to your prayers!
We arrived safely in the US on April 19th. The trip was smooth! Thank you for your prayers. It is good to be back in the US, but it makes us miss Guyana! We arrived just in time to participate in our sending church’s Cowboy Carnival Sunday with evangelist Kevin Walker. It was a fantastic weekend with dozens of visitors and many salvation decisions. Mark was able to help set up the many events for the kids and helped direct the parking. Faith enjoyed the carnival and the opportunity to see her grandparents for the first time in over a year!
We picked up the vehicle we are borrowing and traveled to Chattanooga to stay with Emily’s family. We began a series of doctor’s appointments with Emily and Faith which all went well. We then had a couple of meetings before settling in at our temporary home base to await the birth. We are so thankful for the hospitality of Emily’s parents who are allowing us to stay with them for several months.
William Allen Mariner was born on May 23rd at 8:52 PM. He weighed in at 8lbs 2 oz and measured 19.5 inches. At his one-week appointment, the doctor confirmed he is doing well. In fact, he has already passed his birth weight, a sign he is growing as he should. We appreciate greatly all those that have prayed for a healthy delivery. God answered your prayers! Faith has leaped into her role as a big sister. She loves to hold William and to keep an eye on him.
The very same week we experienced another answer to prayer. We received confirmation that our Suriname visas were approved! We sent off our passports and they were returned with visas stamped inside! We are now simply waiting for William’s paperwork (social security card, birth certificate, passport, and visa). We plan to head to Suriname once it is all in order. After speaking with all the different agencies and departments we anticipate having all the necessary documents in time to leave in September. We appreciate all those that have prayed with us regarding our paperwork. We are thankful to have visas for most of the family! We trust that William’s will be approved quickly. We ask that you pray with us regarding this!
During our remaining time in the US, we will be preparing for our move to Suriname. We have meetings planned to report to several of our supporting churches. We are researching housing options and vehicles. We trust that God will continue to guide and provide in these areas as He has done in the past. We would appreciate your prayers as we search for the best options. We are excited for all that God has in store for us in Suriname! Thank you for making our ministry possible!
