Moore Family to Portugal

Moore Family to Portugal

Happy Tuesday and Happy Easter.

It has been a busy couple of weeks. Valerie had the opportunity to travel to Germany for some in person training for a counselling class she has been doing online. It was over specific topics such as homosexuality, suicide, depression, and sexual abuse. Really heavy things, but so necessary nowadays. It used to be people would come to us for spiritual guidance, Biblical explanation, help resolving a conflict with a family member, how to help a rebellious child, or fighting about finances in a marriage. But in the past couple of years, the deep and complex cases have become the “norm” leaving us feeling a little under prepared. This training has been very helpful in helping people define and deal with their problems Biblically in order to bring about true and lasting change.

This past week we were able to travel as a family to Ireland. We don’t generally travel during spring break, but this year we made it a priority. We had a great time and we are so thankful because we were really needing a few “good days.” We fit in several castles, a horse farm, libraries, museums, beautiful Irish countryside, and a sheepdog demonstration. We were able to fit in a visit with missionary friends in Ireland also and are thankful they took the time to drive “halfway” so we could grab a meal. Lots of craic (pronounced crack. Definition: fun, enjoyment, good times, especially with good conversation and good company.)

Of course, we were back in time for Easter Sunday. We spent yesterday trying to recover from all of that and help our house recover also 🤭. 30 loads of laundry later… we picked up a couple from the airport that are preparing to be missionaries in Portugal and they are spending the week with us.

For those who have been praying for Valerie’s health, thank you. Her blood work is much improved, and though we still haven’t really gotten to the bottom of what was wrong, we are just praying that it stays good and this will be the end of the saga.

Have a great week!
