Jesse and Glenna Parnell to Uruguay

New Series on SalvationI am starting a new teaching series for five weeks on salvation. The purpose is to help people be sure of their salvation. Also, we need to be able to explain to others why we believe we are going to heaven when we pass from this life. Many times someone has raised their hand for salvation in an invitation when I thought they had already made a profession of faith. Every person is responsible to know if their heart is right with God. 1 John 5:13 tells us we can know that we have eternal life. My prayer for these classes is that they will help to understand what Christ has done to give us eternal life and how our faith in His redemption work gives us the assurance of eternal life. So many religions teach that there are things that must be done by a person in order to go to heaven. Even having tried to do everything possible to fulfill the teaching of these religions, there is still no assurance that all has been done to satisfy the demands of God. There is nothing that a person can do to satisfy the demands of God. Only Jesus Christ has fulfilled those demands and makes available to us, as a gift, eternal life. This is hard for us as humans to believe and accept. Just plain too simple. My goal with these classes is to lead others to a confident understanding of our salvation in Jesus Christ. Your prayers for these classes will be greatly appreciated.

On October 8th our church had an activity for children. The children enjoyed climbing and jumping in the inflatable castle and riding the mechanical bull. Another church has a ministry with a food truck. They provided food for the event. There was a good turn out and many con- tacts were made. A man who was invited during the event came on the following Sunday and made a profession of faith. Also one of the mothers present made a profession of faith.

Glenna and I are so thankful for so many things in our life. Our journey together has covered a lifetime for which we are grateful for each other and the privilege we have to serve the Lord. We are grateful to you who are so faithful to support us, praying for us and giving that we might be here in Uruguay. We are grateful for our daughter and son-in-law, serving the Lord here in Uruguay. We are thankful that our grandsons also want to serve the Lord. Our oldest grandson is at Liberty University studying music. Thank You so much.
