Dear Pastors and Co-Laborers in Christ,
When one looks around them, they see despair. The stock market and crypto are crashing, gas prices at new record highs, inflation rising, and we just recovered from the COVID pandemic. This is the reality of ministry in 2022.
But we have good news! Our new church plant is growing during this time of turmoil. This last week we had a family conference with Pastor Sam Waterloo, and our church grew spiritually. People need a good concept of what a godly home looks like. The pastor can only say it so many times in so many ways. It is nice for another voice to affirm what the pastor preaches. Families are reaching out to us for help. We are working hard at bringing broken families back together. We are praying for God to break the cycle of the wickedness that is accepted by so many families in the NW. When God is on our side, we are not as affected by the trials and tribulations satan throws at our families and our country.
Our county has not granted us a conditional use permit yet. Nevertheless, we are meeting on the property and using tents to facilitate the Sunday School classes. We are putting the final touches on a church nursery. Our goal is to make it habitable by the first Sunday in July. Our auditorium is almost finished as well. God is so good and worthy to be praised for His lovingkindness toward us. We keep trusting Him both to will and to do His good pleasure.
Souls are being saved and baptized. One day a week I serve as a workplace chaplain and people are coming from that ministry. So far three families have attended, and we have seen three salvation decisions from that labor. I have also dealt with death, suicide, and divorce in this workplace ministry. It is a blessing to have an open door to do soul winning in companies. It is unique to not only talk with the employees about God but to talk to the CEO’s about God as well. Surely the seeds that are sown will reap a great harvest.
Thank you so much for praying for us as we deal with all the obstacles that satan throws our way. If you ever wonder what it is like to do ministry in the Portland metropolitan area, come visit us. We would love to give you a tour.
Our Children’s ministry is starting to grow. For a long time, we only had adults in our ministry. Now we are seeing kids of all ages as we strive to train them in the Lord.
- Pray for us to land our conditional use permit.
- Pray for more laborers in His harvest.
- Pray for the Russian families that are trying to make it to America. They are being drafted to fight against their own families.
We hope to see you soon. God bless you as you serve Him with gladness.
Yours for Souls,
