I have so much to tell you that has happened since my last letter I wrote. God has been so good to us and has answered our prayers. About 2 months ago, we had 2 guests show up at our church for the mid-week service. They had received our invites in their mailbox, but just weren’t sure who we were. The lady actually lives right across from our church. She said she has been watching us for some time. She knew we were a church but wasn’t sure if we were maybe a cult. She continued to tell us how she had not long ago accepted Christ as her Saviour and needed a church to go to. After finding out from us that we are NOT a cult, they both felt relieved and promised to come back for the next service. We were so excited, but also not quite sure what to think. The lady (K) came to the next service alone and listened to the preaching. Afterward, we were able to fellowship and get to know her a bit more. She told us how, she and her husband are very well known in the community. They had a very large successful business for many years in town. Shesaid that she is born again but her husband is a devout Catholic and actually is quite disturbed that she would attend a service from a cult. Apparently he has become quite difficult about the situation but she is staying faithful and praying that her husband will soon come to know the Lord personally. The man (P) that came with K that very first night is just a friend and he has now started coming faithfully to every service as well. To the best of my knowledge, he isn’t saved and needs to accept Christ as his Saviour. He and I have gotten to know each other a lot better and I believe that He will soon be born again. This is so exciting! Maybe you can pray with us that P will be born again and K will take the next steps of spiritual growth.
Our church also hosted a Christmas banquet this year in which we invited my fathers church to attend as well. We had a wonderful time of great food, fellowship, games and gifts for everyone that came. I also was able to present the Gospel very clearly as we had many guests attend who are lost without Christ and have never heard of the “Reason For The Season”.
We are having a lot of snow right now so the Swiss Alps we saw on a recent visit were especially beautiful with all of the snow on them. One thing that struck me while in Switzerland, is that I actually don’t know of any missionaries currently serving in Switzerland. Europe needs help!
