Teen Camp
The year started exiting for the teens as they had the opportunity to go to camp. There is another missionary here that hosts a teen camp every year. We sent 25 teens from our church and two other churches in our district. They came back and gave testimonies about the Biblical decisions they made. Please pray that these teenagers will stay faithful to the Lord and the decisions they made while at camp. One of our young men even received a nice Bible from preaching competition!
Rwenzori Baptist College
We started our first term of Bible college for this year. We have 27 students enrolled in class at the present. I teach on Mondays and Tuesdays, and I have 18 students in Kasese. On Wednesday, I teach 5 students in the village of Kinyayobyo. Pastor Zebedee is teaching 4 students in the village of Muhindi. We are planning to teach in the mountain village of Ribweryakyona next month, and we are expecting about 5 students.
Marriage Seminar
We had a wonderful marriage seminar entitled “A Marriage that Honors God.” We had 21 couples and 4 half couples (husband or wife were not able to come) who attended. They learned many Biblical principles as well as basic differences between husbands and wives. We had some fun games and good food. I have been blessed by the testimonies that have already been given because of this seminar. Most of them said it was things they had never heard before. I pray that they will take these “new” things and apply them in their marriages.
More Weddings
We have also had two more weddings so far this year, with three more planned very soon. One took place in the village of Kabiriti and the other in Ribweryakyona. We thank the Lord for these couples who are doing what is right.
Family Update
Time goes quickly and college reminds us of that when Marcus and Kendra have already started taking mid-terms. This semester seems to be going better as they continue to grow accustomed to American culture. They also experienced their first tornado in OK. So thankful for God’s protection of the kids as well as the campus!
