Trimble Family to the Philippines

Dear Prayer Partners,

In April, I had the privilege of preaching a youth camp for Mt. Apo Baptist Church in Davao City. My father pastored that church for eleven years, and it is where I spent most of my teenage life. It was great to see many of my close friends still serving the Lord there. The pastor who took over the church is a man my parents led to the Lord several years ago when he was still a young man. Pastor Felix Hinautan has been a great friend.

Pastor Felix asked me to be the main speaker of their youth camp, to which I was very honored. It was the first time they could have youth camp in two years, so when we arrived on the campus, you could feel the excitement in the air. The theme of that week was “Awakened & Ignited.” God did a mighty work during the week, with 355 attendees, of which 37 of those surrendered to the ministry. I am praying that the decisions made will have an impact in the weeks and months to come.

Salug Valley Baptist Church, the church we are currently attending, was started by Missionary Bruce Rice about seven years ago. When they first started, they met in the living room of a house they rented. Fast forward seven years later, they are still meeting at that house. However, God has provided a piece of property where work has begun on a new church building. Work has been slow due to the weather, lack of skilled workers, and finances, but God has blessed the work tremendously. Many church men, ladies, and teenagers have donated countless hours to work on the building and grounds. We are praying to get enough done with the facility to start meeting at the new property sometime this year. Please let me know if you would like to help with the building project.

Thank you so much for your prayers for us. It’s crazy to think we have been here for six months now! It hasn’t been easy, but your prayers for our family have made a difference. We are looking forward to what God has planned for us in the next six months. God bless you for your faithfulness!
