Trimble Family to the Philippines

Dear Friends,

In June, we were privileged to personally see the work of world missions take its next step here in Molave. Missionary Bruce Rice started Salug Valley Baptist Church in 2015 and, on June

12th, stepped down as senior pastor. The church voted for Loper Ascenda to become their next pastor. Pastor Ascenda was saved at Westside Baptist Church in Dipolog City in 2005 and graduated from Westside Baptist College of Ministry a few years later. Since graduation, he served on staff for Pastor Rice and accompanied him to Molave to help start Salug Valley Baptist Church. Fast forward seven years later, and he is now the pastor of that church. That is what world missions is all about – reaching others with the gospel, establishing churches, and teaching them to do the same. I am excited to see what the Lord has planned for Pastor Ascenda and Salug Valley Baptist Church. Please pray for them during this transition time, for as the Gospel advances, Satan attacks.

Another step of world missions took place an hour and a half away in Dipolog City. Westside Baptist Church was started in 2001 by Missionary Bruce Rice and my father, former Missionary Eddie Trimble. After Pastor Rice stepped down as pastor, the church called Anecito Calibuhan to be the next pastor. Pastor Calibuhan was saved several years earlier in a church Pastor Rice started. After retiring from the military, he attended and graduated from Westside Baptist College of Ministry. He served on staff and then became the senior pastor in 2012. In June, Pastor Calibuhan stepped down as senior pastor to obey God’s call to start a church in a city called Sindangan, which is about an hour and a half west. Westside Baptist Church followed God’s leadership and called Pastor Rice to come back and become the next pastor.

God is at work here in the Philippines, and it is exciting! Please pray for all that is going on: the transition at Salug Valley Baptist Church, the church plant taking place soon in Sindangan, and the change taking place at Westside Baptist Church. We can do nothing without God, and we desperately need His help.

Concerning our family, we moved to Dipolog City to further our training and transition. Please pray that we will be a blessing and a help to the church.Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support. You have a part in all that is taking place here. God bless!
